Asking For Help When You Need It
My journey with becoming a Sleep Consultant started when I had my own baby. I did lots of research on the Internet and bought a bunch of different books to find the answers I was seeking. Additionally, I asked my family and friends who had the experience of having a newborn. Everywhere I turned there was different advice, methods and ideas about what to do and how to do it. Nothing was working! I ended up co-sleeping with my newborn before I realized that things were really spiraling out of control. It seemed like my baby wouldn’t sleep unless he was attached to me. I found myself in total overwhelm and running on very little sleep with postpartum hormones raging. One fateful morning I collapsed into tears on our bed with my baby screaming in my ears. I knew I had reached my rock bottom and there had to be a better way!
I finally decided to seek the help of a TRUE expert. Within a few days I was working with a Sleep Sense Consultant. She calmed my nerves and helped me find a stable ground to stand on. I finally had an understanding of what I could realistically expect from my baby for his age and I was no longer constantly failing at getting him to sleep. By the time my son was 4 months old he was sleeping through the night for 12-13 hours. It was such a powerful and successful experience that it led me to start blabbing to every new mom I knew about how to get their baby to sleep! After I helped several of my friends I realized I had found my new calling.
I live in Los Angeles, California with my husband Matt and cutie pie son Wally or as we lovingly call him Wallybear.
I’ve resided in LA for 12 years now but I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and lived in Chicago, IL for 8 years where I attended Loyola University and got my degree in Communication and Women’s Studies.
I love cooking, home decorating and spending time outside in the California sunshine!
